Zongo Global Shipping & Logistics started by connecting families and businesses in the diaspora with home, moving cargo from the USA, UK and Europe into Ghana. More than 300 customers later, that work taught us how goods really move: the paperwork, the ports, the clearance, the last mile.
Today we put that experience behind a second line of business. We source and trade staple food commodities — sugar, poultry, meat, cooking oil and milk powder — for buyers across the globe, and we manage the shipment ourselves. One company is accountable for the product and for getting it to you.

Who do you supply?
Importers, distributors, wholesalers and food manufacturers who buy in commercial volumes. If you're buying for a business and aren't sure whether your volume fits, ask — we'll tell you plainly.
Which countries do you sell to?
We work with buyers worldwide. Cargo is quoted to the port you nominate, and because freight is our own business we can also deliver beyond the port where you need it.
How do I get a price?
Use the enquiry form or email sales@zongoshipping.com. We reply with a written offer covering price, delivery term, packing, shipment period and how long the offer is valid.
What do you need from me to quote?
The product and specification, the quantity, your destination port, the delivery term you prefer and when you need the goods. The more precise the specification, the firmer the price we can give you.
What quantities do you work with?
Commodity orders are generally quoted by the container load. Tell us your volume — a single trial container or a recurring monthly programme — and we'll confirm what's workable for that product.
Which delivery terms do you quote?
We quote on the Incoterm you ask for, most commonly FOB, CFR or CIF. If you're not sure which suits you, tell us whether you want the goods handed over at the loading port or delivered to yours, and we'll quote accordingly.
How long is a price valid?
Commodity prices move with the market, so every offer states its own validity period. Once a contract is signed, the price is fixed for that contract.
What are your payment terms?
Payment terms are agreed per contract and set out clearly in our written offer before you commit to anything.
Which documents do you provide?
The document set is agreed in the contract. It typically includes the commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading and certificate of origin, plus health, veterinary or halal certificates where the product and destination require them.
Can the goods be inspected before shipment?
Yes. Independent inspection of quality, quantity and loading can be arranged before shipment at your request.
Do you arrange the shipping as well?
Yes — that's the advantage of buying from a company that began in freight. We book and manage the shipment ourselves, including refrigerated containers for frozen poultry and meat, and keep you updated until the cargo arrives.

What shipping services do you offer?
Sea freight in full or shared containers, air freight for time-sensitive cargo, and Buy & Ship, where we receive purchases from US, UK and European retailers and ship them on to you. We handle commercial and personal shipments.
Where do you ship from and to?
We ship from the USA, UK and Europe to destinations worldwide. Our longest-established lane runs into Ghana and West Africa, where we have our own delivery team.
I'm not near your New York office. How do I get my shipment to you?
Many customers have us collect, for a fee, anywhere in the United States. You can also drop your shipment at our office or have items mailed directly to us.
What does shipping cost?
It depends on the service, the type of goods, the route and when you need them to arrive. Use the enquiry form or email sales@zongoshipping.com for a quote.
How long will my shipment take?
Transit time depends on the route. As a guide, on our USA–Ghana lane air freight arrives in as little as 48 hours and up to 5 days, and sea freight takes 6 to 8 weeks. Sea is the most cost-effective option if you have the time.
How do I track my shipment?
Once your shipment is created you receive a shipment ID. It gives you access to our tracking portal, where you can see the container your shipment is in, the number of items and any other key information.
What happens when my shipment arrives?
Our delivery team at destination contacts you and the receiving contact you named to arrange delivery.
Who pays customs duty and clearance fees?
It depends on the goods and the destination. On our Ghana lane, household goods and food carry no customs fees beyond the shipping fee paid at pickup; vehicles, certain appliances and high-value electronics may attract additional duty and clearance charges. We set out all fees before anything ships.
What happens if my items are damaged or lost?
We work to make sure every shipment reaches its destination. If an item is damaged or lost in transit, we carry out a thorough investigation to establish the cause and address the issue.

Is Zongo a shipping company or a trading company?
Both. Zongo Global Shipping and Logistics LLC started as a freight forwarder and now also sources and trades food commodities. The two sides work together: we sell the product and we move it.
